Finished Product!!

Recently my gorgeous sister in law Yolande was here in Aus, she is a crafty person just like me! We were inspired to make some babushka type dolls during the time she was here. Esther, my daughter, put her thoughts in as to the fact that they had to fit inside each other being babushkas and if they didnt then that just wasn't right! So I came up with this cute pattern and have been really lucky to have lots of Jodies left over bits of tablecloth edges and old doilies etc to use on them.

These are all made from recycled, upcycled, gifted, or thrifted fabrics, doilies and bits and pieces, very eco friendly!!

I have made them for the craft stall Jodie & I are having.

Happy Faces Everywhere!

And they don't belong to my kids! Unfortunately my 2 boys have come down with an extremely nasty flu this week and I have been at house bound BUT on the upside it has given me an opportunity to do some much needed sewing. Jodie and I are having a craft stall in October, it is going to be so much fun. Have a look here at some of the lovelies that Jodie is making.

I am making some very special dolls, my own design and here is a look at the faces I have been stitching. Such happy little, rosy cheeked cherubs!

Stay tuned for a look at the finished product.

With a button on top!

Well here is what I have been doing. Anyone who know me will know I have always been a crafter of some sort. I simply love fabrics, lace and all haberdashery bits and pieces, basically anything I can hoard (much to my husbands disgust!). I have been collecting doilys, tablecloths, beautiful handstitched vintage linen and chenille bedspreads.

Lately I have been very inspired by Jodies doily flowers and have been sewing up a storm, so much so that I have opened my own Etsy shop its called "With a button on top". I didn't realise how much I missed sewing until I got the machine out and started again, now it is set up in the loungeroom with not much sign of being put away any time soon!

Here I will add a big "MWAH" to my lovely buddy Jodie for her help with coloured doilies and bits and pieces, she is an inspiration to be around! YAY for Jodie!!!!

Now this doesn't mean I am over scrapping, ah ah no way! I'm still going to be doing that too, ah busy busy busy over here. So without further ado, here is a few of the lovely things I have been creating and please go over the my etsy shop and have a look at the rest of my goodies and please tell all your friends!!

Cupcake Pincushions

Cushion Covers

I have many ideas to add to the list of yummy things for sale, so keep your eyes peeled for additions to the menu!

cheers for now

Forgive Me Bloggers for I have not posted.....

Well don't fall over but I'm back! I have been very busy starting work and doing kids and other things coming up. I also have another project on the go but more about that in another post.

I have had a bit of scrapping time so I have done this layout for my Sisters Scrapwrecks challenge blog. Thanks for this one must go to my inspirational, doily flower making buddy Jodie. Jodie showed me how to make the gorgeous patchwork and modpodge background, how to make the organza flowers and I used some of her lacey trims too. WOW now thats one very talented lady! If you want to know how to do this background, check out this months Scrapbooking Memories mag, Jodie has a step by step on how to do it in there.

Also on here are a set of wings that I won from Arby, I love them Thanks Arby!!
cheers all

Scrapbook Memories Masters No 1

Oh so busy around here but I thought it was probably time to post my Masters entries here for the world to see. I was very happy with my entry, I found I was creatively challenged and made the most of it!! I was absolutely stoked to get into the Top 50 and am also stoked to have got a HM for my mystery item.

Greatest Achievement

This is one is about marriage. Daz & I have been married for 12 years now and I think that is a fantastic achievement! We have had our ups and downs but all in all we are pretty rock solid.

I love this photo of us, it is lovely and romantic, (those of you who know Daryl will know it is a rarity!!)

I made this little book to contain the journalling. The cover is felt which I glued to bazil and then ran thru the cuttlebug to emboss it. It came out really well.

There are so many things in this layout I love like the handmade organza flowers, doves, nest, book, butterfly, lace etc. I had heaps of fun making it, it took hours and in the end I had to do it twice! as I spilt a cup of coffee all over it when it was almost complete. I didn't give up though, I came home and found all the bits and started again, luckily my scrappy friend Vikki had some of the papers as they were old stock.

It is taking ages to load pics tonight so I will show you all some more tomorrow.
Hope you like the pics
cheers

Get Wrecked!!

One lovely scrap night 8 friends were all sitting around laughing about old techniques and how our scrap styles have evolved and grown since we started scrapping. From this chatter came Scrapwrecks!

Scrapwrecks is a new challenge blog thats just for FUN. Somewhere we can post those old, "ready for renovation" layouts and techniques and have a good laugh. And who know maybe digging out those old layouts will give us all some more inspiration to use old techniques in a brand new way!

For January there is a RAK prize that I have donated, its full of chipboard, flowers, felt, brads and other yummy things, so get on over to Scrapwrecks, have a look at the challenge for January and join in the fun.

Don't forget to tell all your friends so they can join in too!!!

What Is Old Is New Sketch Challenge November

I feel like I haven't posted a lo in ages! I have done a few things but they have been for DTs so I haven't been able to post them up as yet. I had a little operation this week and have been "lounge bound", the only thing I have been able to do is handstitch, so I came up with these lovely pinwheel flowers, if you look closely you will see little crystal beads around the edges of some of them. They took me hours to stitch lying down on the couch!! it was alot of fun though!! The organza ones are handmade too, my lovely buddy Jodie showed me how to make them.

Cheers for now
